Priscilla Block is sharing her reimagined version of Simon & Garfunkel’s “Cecilia” with her new song “You’re Breaking My Heart (Cecilia),” out now.
Simon & Garfunkel’s “Cecilia,” taken from their 1970 album Bridge Over Troubled Water, tells a story of love gone wrong; however, Block’s “You’re Breaking My Heart (Cecilia)” flips the script and tells off the “other woman”.
Block’s “You’re Breaking My Heart (Cecilia)” was written by Jessie Jo Dillon, Chris Tompkins, Jesse Frasure, and Hailey Whitters, and produced by Grammy Award-winner David Garcia. Block shares: “Some of my all-time favorite songs are modern takes on old classics, and when I heard this one, it just felt right. My mom grew up listening to ‘Cecilia,’ and to me, it has that same timeless pull — like a modern-day ‘Jolene.’ I hope y’all love it .”
